Queen worshipers worldwide will shortly mark Freddie Mercury's 17th death anniversary, each one in his own way. However, Cinematheque Tel-Aviv decided to arrange a unique Queen marathon - 4 hours of pure ROYAL DOMINATION! Freddie kept his word and I've gone with a feeling of immense pleasure even though it wasn't a genuine Queen performance!

I went to the occasion with both of my best friends, Hila and May, on Friday the 21st, three days before Mercury's 17th death anniversary. When arriving to the screening hall precisely at 22:00 p.m., we could see many teenagers, particularly girls, wearing shorts with their musical heroes on. Our waiting for the marathon to begin was worthwhile. During the first part of the marathon, we were watching a documentary movie, telling Queen's success story which was cut down due to Mercury's surrender to the AIDS disease. During the second part, it was our turn to take the microphones and show what we have in our vocal cords! We saw Queen's electrifying performance in Live Aid (1985) and additional two live performances from different years (1975, 1986). Neither of us would accept to forget this amazing marathon, during which we were laughing and singing incessantly.

I recommend you not only to love Queen as the best band of the 20th century, but also check sometimes what the Cinemathque has to offer for you!

You may have assumed right – I am writing about the dearest woman for me on earth, the one who bestowed me the present of being. My mother is the most marvelous, the most benevolent and the cleverest person I'm most honored to know.

My mother's name is Irene, and she is 47 years old. My mother was born in Leningrad (currently St. Petersburg) on the 21st of April 1961. During her 23th birthday celebration, she received a proposal from an uninvited visitant, who happened to be my father. Since that magical day, they would be a married couple, raising three children: Karen (1985), Ariel (1987) and I (1993).

My mother acquired her medical education in Pavlov's First Institute of Medicine. Since immigrating to Israel, my mother is no longer practicing medicine, though she is nowadays assisting my father on house calls. Besides her profession, my mother also has a host of hobbies, such as reading mystery books and having a splendid time with the whole family.

I love my mother as the trees love water and sunshine – she helps me grow, prosper and reach great heights.

So Dear Mother... Thanks for everything! I Love You!

Me, Myself & I

My name is Michal Agur, and I'm fifteen years old. I was born on August the 16th 1993 to the most adorable family on earth, weighing 3.1 kilograms. My sister, Karen, is studying Electronic Engineering at the Institute of Technology, and my brother, Ariel, is studying Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Their attainments always make me proud, and I hope to follow their paths as well.
I have myriads of hobbies, but my major hobby is listening to music. As mentioned previously in my profile, Queen is the band I mostly listen to. The day I came upon their video hit "I Want to Break Free" has changed my entire life. Since then, I've become an enthusiastic admirer, nurturing a tiny though unique collection of rare Queen items. This fascinating foursome will always be treasured in my heart. Apart from music, I love reading mystery and adventure books and hiking with my family. Having travelled in Jerusalem plenty of times before, our hearts are enriched with excitement arriving at the gates of King David's Tomb, which I must pay a visit to, for he has mentioned my name numerously.
I currently study in the 10th grade in a science class. I major in Physics and Chemistry, subjects I chose in order to promote my dream of discovering a cure for AIDS.
This was a miniscule window to my life, hopes and dreams, which I will open further during this coming year.
